oh my God! I loved Finding the Wolf and want to read Stealing the Dragon so much. Definitely sign me up for a copy of Stealing the Dragon.
ReplyDeleteProbably my favorite thing about dragons is how versatile they are. Practically every mythology on the planet has a dragon or dragon-like creature. You can do so much with that amount of lore, and it allows you to be really creative when design them as characters. There is no one way to write a dragon. I am particularly intrigue by wyrm dragons from Welsh and Irish mythology. They don't fly and don't have legs which makes them different from other European dragons, the tend to be guardians of certain physical locations like hills or rock formations. I find them fascinating and not as often written about in fantasy novels.

E.E. stole the words right out of my mouth; I love dragons for their versatility. They're different from one story to the next. You can have a wise sage of a dragon, and a snarling beast that has to be slain. They can be mythic, literal, or godlike beings. If ten of us write ten dragon stories, you'd get vastly different interpretations, ten beautifully different stories. I always loved McCaffrey's dragonrider series, with the intelligent beings bonded to humans they trusted to ride them. And the white dragon Ruth, with his daring and sense of humor, was probably my favorite.
ReplyDeleteI would be happy to win either story! I'd love to check out this series.
Also, my email is Talya.Andor at gmail.
DeleteI love the idea of these great big, sometimes noble, creatures flying around wrecking havoc in good ways and bad! My favorite genre is fantasy and dragons usually play a big part in a lot of them. I love books that combine fantasy with m/m (another favorite) especially with dragons.
ReplyDeleteHaven't read any dragon books, sounds interesting.Would like to read either book.
ReplyDeletecvsimpkins@msn.com
Oh I haven't read those, but they sound interesting.
ReplyDeleteI love dragons! I love that they can fly and breathe fire and I especially love the ones that can talk. I think my favourite dragons are the more traditional ones, but I like reading about all sorts of dragons.

Oops! I forgot to say I'd love to win either story.
DeleteI've loved dragons since I lived as a child in Hong Kong and watched the Dragon boat race. I was lucky enough to marry a Welsh man who is as mad about dragons as I am and we have about 300 + dragons in our house (mostly his). My favourite dragon however has to be Gorbash from Flight Of Dragons (but only because I can't pick just one of the Pern dragons).

I love the regal nature of the dragon. Besides being beautiful and powerful in strength, they have the awesome abilities of being able to fly and breathe out fire. I think my favorite dragon is the one in Dragon Stew by Megan Derr. Your story sounds really good.
ReplyDeletePlease enter me in both contests. Thanks for the giveaway!

I've always loved dragons, they are noble and powerful and best of all they can breathe fire and fly!
ReplyDeletePlease enter me in both contests. Thank you!

I read a lot of paranormal creatures in m/m, but it probably says something that the only dragons I can think of right now are the (admittedly very cute and lovable) ones in Adam Rubin and Daniel Salmieri's children's book DRAGONS LOVE TACOS. So, I need to fix that! I would be happy with either book if I win...

Dragons are my second favorite shifters after wolves. I think the most memorable dragons for me were the dragons in the Dragonriders of Pern series and how they were once small lizards that humans engineered into fighting dragons of the Thread. I love the idea of being able to ride Dragons and have one bond only to you.
ReplyDeletePlease enter me in both contests.

I have a thing for little dragons. :) In the DragonKeeper Chronicles the smallest dragons can sit in your palm and flock everywhere! And in the Nightrunner series, there are fingerlings, which are tiny, adorable, and good luck to boot!
ReplyDeleteCount me in for both books, please.

I love how Dragons always seem to personify sexy beasts...My favorite!
ReplyDeleteI could like to enter both contests please.
Thank you,
chellebee66(at)gmail(dot)com
What I adore about dragons is probably that no matter how many different interpretations there are of dragons, they will always remain so damn beautiful and very much at the top of the magical creature food chain, haha :)
ReplyDeleteThankyou for hosting this giveaway!

And also (just in case :D) goodreads: http://www.goodreads.com/whatisthis
I would love Stealing the Dragon, please!
I love Lena Austin's Dragon's Egg in which we get to meet Puff the Magic Dragon, very interesting take on the song. Count me in on this one.

These are gorgeous covers, wow! I love the idea of a dragon hoard. I think a 21st century dragon would have iPads, plasma televisons, and Mini Coopers in its hoard. I love dragons' unapologetic materialism! I would like to try fit both books, thank you!
ReplyDeletebrendurbanist at gmail dot com
I'm a great lover of all things magic & Dragons top that list.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to be counted in for either book thank you.
marypres(AT)gmail(DOT)com
I love dragons because they are so clearly different from all other mythical creatures, and their characteristics are so well defined :) And magical.
ReplyDeleteI would like to enter both contests ;)

My favorite belief about dragons is in Japanese culture, where they consider seahorses as baby dragons. Yes, I learned this watching the anime "Fruits Basket". And ever since, I've been collecting seahorse items - toys, jewelry, etc.
ReplyDeleteWould love to win both books! Thanks very much for the giveaway! And may I say, I love your work!

I have a fond love of the character Haku from Miyazaki-sensei's movie, Spirited Away and have always been fascinated by dragons and their hoard especially their human "treasure".
ReplyDeleteI especially enjoyed reading your book, Finding The Wolf, and would love to win a copy of the sequel, Stealing The Dragon. :)
dyoklako at gmail dot com
I would love love to win a copy of Stealing the Dragon!! Insofar as dragon info, I have my own personal dragon named Ferdinand. He is green with purple wings and he protects my bookshelves with the utmost diligence. I made him out of clay once upon a time when I was in a really bad place and he is beautiful. I'd have to say that Megan Derr's take on dragons might be one of my favourite. There are many others I adore as well, though. Hers are just particularly fun and the ones I've read the most recently. :)
ReplyDeleteHi, Mell, and thanks for the giveaways.
ReplyDeleteI am currently reading Naomi Novik's Temeraire series, set in the Napoleonic wars in Europe (and beyond, in her books). I particularly love the feisty, impulsive fire-breather, Iskierka. She is a hoot!
Others I like are Megan Derr's dragons; J.B. McDonald's series and Tygati's fantasy stories on Livejournal.
My email is corieltauviqueen at yahoo.co dot uk. If I'm lucky enough to win I'd prefer the new book, Stealing the Dragon, as I already have Finding the Wolf :)
I'd love to win either book, they both sounds great! I absolutely love dragons, especially dragon shifters. They're majestic, dangerous, and highly protective of what they consider theirs. Not to mention, they're sexy. I love Amber Kell's Dragonmen series and Megan Derr's dragons.
ReplyDeletetiger-chick-1(at)hotmail(dot)com
I'm interested in either book, and what I love most about dragons is how variable the approach to writing them is. You can find stories where they're good or evil or shapeshifters or magical or naturally occuring, intelligent or mindless beast, or some combination therein, and each one brings it's own perspective to the table, so I never get tired of reading about them.
ReplyDeleteMy e-mail is mythologian @ gmail.com
Hi. I'll love to win Stealing the Dragon, since I've already read Finding the Dragon. I love fantasy with dragons. They just go so well together. :)
ReplyDeleteEmail: schan26.wisc@gmail.com
I would love to win and read either book, so please enter me in both drawings! =) Who doesn't love reading about dragons? I love that they are super possessive. I also really enjoy it when an author writes about a dragon who considers the love interest as part of their treasure. So cute. My favorite story like that is "Dragon Stew", by Megan Derr. I'm sure I could think of more, but that's the first one that pops into my mind.

I kind of hate books where the dragon is the bad guy that gets killed, I'm all for dragon power. And I think my fav dragons came from Pern. Either book is fine, but I've never read any of them. So if you give me the second book. I'll probably buy the first to read it in order.
ReplyDeleteLet me see if I can still enter. Funny think is, I'm in Sri Lanka now where the date is 18th Feb. :D Wish me luck.
